Attività Economica

77min | feature documentary | 202?

Set in the heart of Sardinia (Italy), Attività Economica explores money as a collective act of imagination which follows the making of a film about a bank robbery and the prop money needed for its production. A retired factory worker turned amateur filmmaker wants to make a Western about a bank robbery. Intent on making his film as realistic as possible and upon being refused a loan of euro banknotes to use as props, the filmmaker along with his extended family set out to create their very own money. These amateur bankers print a series of banknotes sporting the village landmarks, though just as their money enters into circulation, they find that they can no longer afford to finish their film.
